GOREWEAR M base layer thermal shirt

GOREWEAR M base layer thermal shirt

Equipment details

Clothing 140 g 0.5 L
This long-sleeved undershirt is the warming first layer on the packing list: it comes directly to the skin and is worn under a jersey, wind vest or rain jacket when temperatures are below 10 °C. Especially on bikepacking stages with cool mornings, long descents or breaks, the body loses heat quickly, even though it initially seems mild when cranking. The thermal shirt therefore complements the existing short cycling clothing more usefully than another short-sleeved jersey.

The close-fitting fit is intended to draw moisture away from the body and work without wrinkles under other layers. For changing loads, the layering principle is more practical than a very thick outer layer: uphill the jacket can be opened or taken off while the base layer remains. At 140 g, the shirt is easily acceptable as a reserve for cold tour days; rolled it requires about 500 ml in the bag. The market price is in the upper range, which is why it is a suitable choice, especially for regularly driven autumn, winter and spring tours.
